    About this stone

    Citrine is the yellow variety of quartz (SiO₂, Mohs hardness 7). Natural citrine gets its warm color from ferric iron; most commercial 'citrine' is heat-treated amethyst, so we use natural saturated-yellow citrine and disclose any heat-treated piece in Specs. Major sources include Brazil and Madagascar.
